Where is Fremont Oktoberfest?

The event is held in the streets of Fremont between Phinney Ave N and 1st Ave NW and N 35th St and N Canal St. For directions, click here.

What if it’s raining?

We are there rain or shine! So grab an umbrella and we’ll try to put up an extra tarp or two to keep you dry.

Where can I find parking?

Fremont has lots of street parking available. There are also many U-park lots in the vicinity as well.
The following paid parking lots will be available during the event:

  • Getty Images underground parking garage on Canal St., Lot closes at 11p.m.

How much does it cost to get in?

A taste is one token (unless otherwise noted). Additional tokens cost $1.75 a piece. You can buy extra tokens inside the Microbrew Garden at one of the Extra Token Booths, the Merchandise Booth or the Pretzel Booth. Souvenir mugs are available while supplies last.

Can I buy advanced tickets?

Yes! Advance tickets for The Stranger Microbrew Garden are on sale August 15. At the event, present your ticket at the door for a 5oz souvenir mug and 6 tokens. Souvenir mugs are available while supplies last.

How do the online tickets work?

Guests must bring the print out of the tickets they purchased online in order to get into The Stranger Microbrew Garden. No reprinting capacities are at the festival.

What is the appropriate ID to get in?

The WA Liquor Control Board will accept 1) a driver’s license with a photo from any state; 2) a current passport; 3) a DMV identification card; and 4) a military card. The state identification card and/or the military card must bear a picture of the person, the person’s name, address, date of birth, a physical description and the signature of the person.

Does Fremont Oktoberfest accept credit cards or checks?

We accept credit cards as well as cash for payment of admission. We do not accept checks or American Express.

Can I bring my child?

Yes, but children are not allowed in The Stranger Microbrew Garden or the Beck’s Village Beer Garden. All Stranger Microbrew Garden ticket holders must be at least 21 years of age (this include young infants). Children are allowed in the Fremont Oktoberfest Village which is free and open to the public and includes a kids’ area, Texas Chainsaw Pumpkin Carving Contest, food vendors and music.

What is the deal with glasses and tokens?

Okay, so you’re in the Microbrew Festival. Now what? Well, in order to sample beer at the festival you must have the official event souvenir mug. Servers will not pour beer into anything else. Admission includes a souvenir mug that holds 5oz. Servers do not accept cash. Tokens for beer are given to you with your admission when you enter the festival and you can buy additional tokens at one of the Extra Token Booths, Merchandise Booth or Pretzel Booth. Tokens cost $1.75 a piece and one token (unless otherwise noted) will get you one taste of beer. Tokens are non-refundable.

What’s the deal with the new tickets?

If you purchased an advance ticket we will scan that ticket at the entrance and give it back to you. If you are purchasing a ticket at the entrance, we will scan and give you a ticket. You must keep this ticket in order to leave and re-enter the festival. The only place to exit the festival if you want to re-enter is at the exit gate next to the Main Entrance on N 35th Street. In order to re-enter you must get your ticket scanned out and stamped.

When do admission and extra token sales cease?

Be aware of the following when scheduling your visit to the festival. We want you to be happy. So arrive early and allow yourself plenty of time to enjoy the festival.

  • Friday: Admission and token sales end at 11:00pm, taps shut down at 11:30pm, festival closes at 12:00am
  • Saturday: Admission and token sales end at 11:00pm, taps shut down at 11:30pm, festival closes at 12:00am
  • Sunday: Admission and token sales end at 5:00pm, taps shut down at 5:30pm, festival closes at 6:00pm

When do taps shut down?

  • Friday: Taps shut down at 11:30pm, festival closes at 12:00am
  • Saturday: Taps shut down at 11:30pm, festival closes at 12:00am
  • Sunday: Taps shut down at 5:30pm, festival closes at 6:00pm

A last call will be announced 15 minutes before the beer taps shut down.

Is there any food on site?

Yes! We have delicious bratwurst from Zieglers and other fair food inside the Microbrew Garden. We also have a full food court in the Fremont Oktoberfest Village.

Is smoking allowed?

Fremont Oktoberfest is an outdoor event and smoking is permitted. We ask that you do not litter, use the trash receptacles and be respectful of other guests. There is also a Cigar Lounge located near the back gate that sells cigars and has ash trays for guests to use.

What about designated drivers?

If you are part of a group and plan to drink, assign a designated driver or take a taxi. Designated drivers who register at the entrance will receive water and soda tickets. Designated drivers may not drink beer while at the festival. Please abide by this rule and help us create a safe event for everyone. Designated driver admission is $15 and can be purchased at the event.

What if the person I’m with doesn’t drink? Do they have to pay $25?

Guests (including designated drivers) who are not drinking pay a $15 non-drinking admission fee. Designated Driver tickets are unavailable in advance but may be purchased day-of at the event.
