Become a Fremont Oktoberfest Volunteer!

Thanks for your interest in becoming a Fremont Oktoberfest Volunteer. The Fremont Oktoberfest is a celebration of fall and all it has to offer – great weather and great beer. We hope you can find a chance to join us by volunteering.

Preferred shifts go early, so please submit your request as soon as possible to receive the shift you want.

This year, the Fremont Oktoberfest has moved to a new Fremont location! Our new setting is on the shores of the Fremont Ship Canal on N. 35th St and N. Canal St. at Phinney Ave. N. in Fremont. Click here for a detailed map

VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION

Age Requirements:

There are many shifts that are not age dependent but to volunteer in The Stranger Microbrew Garden you must be 21 years old or older.

T-shirts:

As a volunteer you will receive an official Volunteer T-shirt donated by Desteenation Shirt Company, which will be your uniform during your shift. You are required to wear it while working.

Free Admission to the event:

In addition to a great time, you will receive a free admission to the event. At the end of your shift you will be given a festival cup and tastes. WA State Liquor Law prohibits drinking before or during a shift and this will be strictly enforced. For those of you who sign up for a Saturday evening or Sunday shift, you are welcome to attend the festival on a prior day granted that you return for your shift on Saturday or Sunday. You will receive only ONE admission per shift worked.

Check-In:

Please check-in before your scheduled shift start time. Look for the volunteer check-in signs as you approach the Fremont Oktoberfest Entrance located on N. 35th St at Phinney Ave N.

Attendance:

We rely on your presence and showing up for your shift on time. If your schedule changes please contact us immediately by emailing volunteer@boldhatproductions.com

Volunteer Orientation:

All new volunteers are requested to attend the Volunteer Orientation. At the meeting you will meet the festival staff and Volunteer Coordinators. We will go over event logistics and get you fully prepared for your shift.

If you have not previously volunteered and are unable to attend the orientation please arrive 15 minutes before your shift to be briefed on festival policies.

The Volunteer Orientation will be held on Tuesday, September 18th from 6PM to 7PM in the University Room in the Adobe Building at 801 N. 34th St., Seattle, WA 98103, (underneath the Aurora Bridge).

Some jobs require that you are over 21 years of age. Please check the appropriate box:

Please understand that if your desired shift is full we will assign you to a different shift as needed. If you'd like to sign up for multiple shifts please make a note in the Comment field.

PRE-EVENT VOLUNTEERS:

The Fremont Oktoberfest is looking for some fabulous volunteers that can be pre-event marketing representatives. Spread the word about this awesome event through distributing posters, coaster, flyers and more! Hours are flexible. If interested please email volunteer@boldhatproductions.com with Pre-Oktoberfest Marketing in the subject line.

PRODUCTION HELP:

We need some strong volunteers to help us build and take down the Fremont Oktoberfest. Work with our awesome production crew to make this event a reality.

GUEST AMBASSADORS:

Due to our new location we want to make sure that everyone can find their way to the Fremont Oktoberfest. We need friendly folks to stand on street corners and the perimeter of the event letting people know how to get to the Fremont Oktoberfest Entrance. You will also be informing vehicular traffic of street closures due to the Fremont Oktoberfest and where they can find parking.

Where the fun begins! After providing the proper identification, our patrons will be itching to try the microbrews. We need friendly folks to assist the cashiers on getting the thirsty guests into the event. They hand over the cash, you give 'em the cup and beer tokens.

Once guests have wet their whistles sampling with the tokens that they purchased on entry, they will be looking to taste some more fine microbrews. They will be able to purchase additional tokens from you as well as water, soda, and pretzels.

The Fremont Oktoberfest produces commemorative t-shirts each year that are sold along with brewery t-shirts. Volunteer staff is needed to sell the gear to the festival guests.

New this year inside the Stranger Microbrew guests can enter the Tap House Grill Buxom Beer Garden and purchase full glass beers in a traditional Oktoberfest setting. Volunteers will help pour beer and clear tables.

The Kids Area has many fun activities for kids that require volunteer assistance. Activities include pumpkin carving, Zucchini 500 car races, beads making, etc.

Volunteers are needed to help set up the site, pour beer, and be hosts/hostesses for the exclusive pre-event party for Adobe Systems, one of the festival's major sponsors early Friday afternoon.

BREW HA-HA 5K/WALK and BREW HA-HA STREET SCRAMBLE:

Brew Ha-Ha 5K Run/Walk returns again by popular demand and we need energetic, well-organized volunteers for registration pickup and course marshals. The Brew Ha-Ha Street Scramble needs volunteers for registration and scoring answer sheets at the end.

It's a first-come, first-served basis, hence we give you the option of choosing fallback shifts if your first choice is already taken.





2007 Fremont Oktoberfest

Volunteer Release and Waiver of Claims

I assume all risks arising at the Fremont Oktoberfest at the event and from transportation to and from the site of this activity. I also understand that it is possible that my participation in this activity may involve injury of some type to another participant or myself.

I release, acquit, and forever discharge Fremont Oktoberfest, Bold Hat Productions, and the Fremont Chamber of Commerce from any and all claims, demands, damages, costs, action, or liability on account of, or in any way growing out of, any and all known and unknown foreseen bodily injuries or death, or damage to property resulting from or by reason of my participation in, or transportation to or from, any activity, work or work site in any way related to the program.

I understand that this is a full and final release and waiver of claims of every nature and kind whatsoever, known and unknown, suspected and unsuspected, and that I will receive no money from the Fremont Oktoberfest, Bold Hat Productions, and the Fremont Chamber of Commerce on any claims or claims resulting from the above-described activity or associated transportation. This release waiver and assumption of risk shall be binding upon myself, heirs, assigns, personal representatives or executors, next of kin, or any other person or entity who may assert any claim arising from or related to my participation in the program/project. This release and waiver is specifically intended to apply even where an injury or cause of action arises from the sole negligence of the released parties.

Further, I agree to reimburse and indemnify all released parties for any amounts which any insurance carriers, government entities, hospitals, or other persons or organizations may recover from them in reimbursement for any amounts paid to me or on my behalf as a result of the above-described activity or associated transportation, by way of contribution, subrogation, indemnity or otherwise.

Fremont Oktoberfest

WA State Liquor Board Rules and Regulations Waiver

Initial beside each statement that you have read and understand the law.

  • In acknowledgment that the Fremont Oktoberfest adheres to all Washington State Liquor Control Board (WSLCB) rules and that it is illegal for anyone under the age of 21 years to consume alcoholic beverages on festival grounds.
  • It is illegal to drink while working for the festival as a volunteer.
  • Liquor Laws prohibits the selling, serving, or supplying of liquor to an apparently intoxicated person.
  • It is illegal to give away alcohol.

By submitting the Volunteer Registration form, the volunteer has read the above information that adheres to the laws of the WSLCB. And they have read the assumption of risks, waiver, and release and they understand it and agree to its terms.
